City firefighters responded at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, to a report of a possible carbon monoxide leak at the 402 Hazel St. residence occupied by Lola Smith. It was investigation only. City firefighters responded at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, to a report of a possible carbon monoxide leak at the 402 Hazel St. residence occupied by Lola Smith. It was investigation only.

According to the report, firefighters contacted Spire gas company and Poplar Bluff Housing Authority maintenance personnel upon their arrival.

Upon checking the residence, no carbon monoxide was found.

City firefighters responded at 10:59 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, to a motor-vehicle crash at the intersection of Peach and Pine streets.

According to the report, firefighters assisted emergency-medical-services personnel in packaging and loading one person for transport to a hospital for treatment.

Firefighters remained on the scene until wrecker personnel removed the vehicles and cleared debris from the road.

City firefighters responded at 10:32 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, to a motor-vehicle crash on Kanell Boulevard.

According to the report, firefighters found two people inside their vehicle and removed the windshield to gain access to them.

Firefighters assisted emergency-medical-services personnel in loading them from the vehicle onto a stretcher.

City firefighters responded at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, to a report of an unauthorized burn in the area of Lexington and Cole avenues.

According to the report, firefighters found a small fire burning behind the 114 Lexington Ave. residence occupied by Justin Brennecke.

Firefighters contacted Brennecke and told him about the city’s burn ordinance. Brennecke put out the fire.
