Jerry Lynn Warren Sr.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Jerry Lynn Warren Sr. passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Jerry was born June 1, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. to Loyd Chalmer and Altha (Mayberry) Warren. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1962. Jerry retired in 2012 as construction supervisor of the Self Help Housing Program, thru Ozark Regional Planning Commission. He also served in the Missouri and Illinois National Guard. Jerry was a long time member of First Church of God in Poplar Bluff.

On February 2, 1974, he was married to Ruth M. (Jarrell) Warren. She survives.

Also surviving are four children: Jerry Jr. “Jay” Warren and wife Candace of Poplar Bluff, Wendy Meade and husband Darcy of Warsaw, Indiana, Kim Carpenter and Kristy Walls and husband Rodney, of Poplar Bluff; 11 grandchildren, Ryan Lee Walls and Emily Marie Walls, Jackson Montgomery Warren and wife Lexi , Harrison Rutledge Warren, Lincoln Gilliam Warren, Sarah Elizabeth Meade, Joshua Michael Meade and wife Kate, Brittany Leann Meade, Christian Logan Carpenter, Mariah Gail Carpenter, and Samantha Nichole Carpenter; three great-grandchildren, ElliAnna Rachelle Meade, Callen Matthew Barber, and Oaklyn Rose Warren; two brothers, Loyd (Sonny) Warren and Gordan Gail Warren; and one sister Barbara Mattingly.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Loyd Warren and Altha Warren Sparkman.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Ben Higgins officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to First Church of God Building Fund, which was Jerry’s passion.
