Stoddard County will host nearly 20 other commissions within the southeast district during next month’s annual meeting.

The Southeast District Commissioners meeting is held to discuss issues pertinent to individual county governments in the areas or statewide.

Officials take part in roundtable discussions to receive feedback and advice from other elected officers in addition to hearing updates within the district.

Stoddard County hosts the meeting once a year in rotation with other counties throughout the district.

The 17 counties within the Southeast District include Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Franklin, Iron, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Perry, Scott, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Stoddard, Washington and Wayne.

The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. March 27 at the Bootheel Regional Planning Commission, 105 East North Main St. in Dexter.

The Stoddard County commission’s regular weekly meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19. County offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 18, in recognition of the President’s Day holiday.
