Gary Lee Vinson

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Gary Lee Vinson, 68, of Poplar Bluff, passed away at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical.

He was born on June 3, 1950 to Glenn and Violet (Hathaway) Vinson in Poplar Bluff. Gary lived in Poplar Bluff until he was 10 when he and his family moved to California. He remained in California where he married and had his children. After his retirement from Lockheed Martin in 2002 he moved back to Poplar Bluff.

Gary loved his family, reading, baking and he had great sense of humor with an amazing laugh.

Gary is survived by two daughters, Jessica Vinson and Brook Vinson both of San Jose, Calf.; two sisters, Carolyn Russell of Farmington, Mo. and Sharon Raymer of Mexico, Mo.; one brother, Glenn Ray Vinson of Modesto, Calif.; three step-sons, Brett Hawkins, Matt Hawkins of Connecticut and Ty Hawkins of Santa Cruz, Calif.; his five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he cared deeply for.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirrell Bollinger Vinson; and his parents.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Poplar Bluff Library.

A memorial service will be held on February 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff.
