City firefighters responded at 9:47 p.m. Friday to a unauthorized burning at 1000 W. Victor Street occupied by Becky Hawn.
According to the report, upon arrival firefighters found a large pile of leaves burning in the backyard unattended. Firefighters used approximately 50 gallons of water and a booster line to extinguish the fire and advised the occupant of the city’s burn ordinance.

City firefighters responded at 7:41 p.m. Friday for arcing at 3100 Charlton Lane.
According to the report, a concerned citizen contacted firefighters about an arcing electrical line located on the property. Municipal Utilities was contacted, arrived and fixed the problem.

According to the report, firefighters were requested by the Poplar Bluff Police Department to bring a ladder to aid in serving a search warrant.

According to the report, upon arrival firefighters found a pile of wire burning unattended in the woods. Firefighters used a booster line and 10 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

City firefighters responded at 1:31 p.m. Friday to a medical assist at 641 Lindsay Street.
According to the report, firefighters assisted EMS with a patient who needed help getting from his vehicle to inside his residence.

City firefighters responded at 9:01 a.m. Friday to a gas leak at 1115 Gardner Street.
According to the report, firefighters were advised the water department was working on the lines when a gas line was accidentally hit causing a small leak.
Firefighters stood by while Spire gas made repairs and cleared the scene.

City firefighters responded at 8:49 a.m. Friday to an alarm sounding at Briggs and Stratton Health Center at 7251 Highway 142.
According to the report, while en route firefighters were advised staff stated there was no fire and the alarm was reset.
Upon arrival firefighters found nothing showing. Contact was made with Sam, who stated they were unable to locate any smoke or fire and she silenced and reset the alarm.
