Stoddard County officials say an extensive, months-long investigation has resulted in two arrests related to a rash of burglaries Stoddard, Bollinger and Scott counties.

Sidney Scowden of Dexter and Shawn Yount of Advance are both charged with six counts of second degree burglary in Bollinger County, according to the Stoddard County sheriff’s department.

This is still considered an active investigation, said Stoddard Sheriff Carl Hefner, in a press release.

“Additional charges are pending in Stoddard County and expected to be filed as well as other jurisdictions assisting in the investigation,” Hefner said.

Yount is currently being held in Stoddard County on an additional charge for violating probation, after being arrested Jan. 30. Scowden has been booked in Bollinger County, and was arrested Jan. 31. Bond has been set at $175,000 and $75,000 respectively.

Agencies involved in the investigation are: Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office, Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Advance Police Department, Oran Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the United States Postal Service.
