City firefighters responded at 11:15 p.m. Thursday to a shed on fire at the rear of 1931 Brentwood occupied by Dana Carnell. According to the report, upon arrival firefighters observed heavy smoke showing. Firefighters stretched a 1 3/4” preconnect to the side of the structure...

City firefighters responded at 11:15 p.m. Thursday to a shed on fire at the rear of 1931 Brentwood occupied by Dana Carnell.

According to the report, upon arrival firefighters observed heavy smoke showing. Firefighters stretched a 1 3/4” preconnect to the side of the structure.

Firefighters determined the main body of the fire was in the back corner of the structure and observed a small burn through an area in the exterior wall.

Firefighters made a quick knockdown of the fire through the burn through before opening the door on the A side of the structure.

Firefighters made entry into the structure to extinguish the remainder of the fire. Battalion Chief Dudley made contact with the home owner who was able to control the utilities to the structure from the breaker box inside the residence.

The structure was overhauled, several small hot spots were extinguished and the structure was ventilated and 1,000 gallons of water was used.

Upon investigation, there area of origin was determined to be in the northwest corner of the structure. There were multiple electrical sources in the area of origin and firefighters were unable to rule these out as possible ignition sources. The fire is undetermined at this time.

City firefighters responded at 10:13 a.m. Thursday to 1747 Cravens Road to an alarm sounding.

According to the report, dispatch advised the alarm company stated it was a water flow alarm.

Upon arrival, nothing was showing from the exterior. Firefighters made contact with maintenance personnel who advised they had checked the building and the alarm had sounded due to low water pressure.

City firefighters responded at 8:25 a.m. Thursday to an unauthorized burning at 1331 Benton Street occupied by Mike Gilmore.

According to the report, upon arrival, firefighters found the occupant burning trash in the back yard. Firefighters used a booster and 50 gallons of water to extinguish the fire and cleared the scene.

County firefighters responded at 12:56 a.m. Friday to a camper fire at 15 County Road 425.

According to the report, the camper was a total loss.

County firefighters responded at 5:05 a.m. Friday to the smell of something burning at 297 Redhawk Lane, owned by Aaron Wertenberger.

According to the report, the smell was from a blower motor on a furnace.
