Grandin native Laura Nance invites the community to an open house from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the new Country Care Family Clinic in Ellsinore.
Nance, a family nurse practitioner, recently opened the clinic at 3 East Cleveland Ave. with a primary goal of helping those without medical insurance coverage.
During the open house, free screenings will be available along with refreshments and prizes.
Currently, the clinic accepts cash patients and Medicare with applications expected to be approved soon to accept Medicaid and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Services offered include DOT physical exams, weight loss management, suturing, routine office procedures, etc.
In addition to the goal of serving those without any type of medical coverage, Nance said she and office assistant September Fordham hope to utilize their practice as a witnessing opportunity and to spread the word of God.
Nance and her family are from Grandin. She obtained her family nurse practitioner degree from Walden University.
The clinic’s collaborating physician is Dr. Carrie Carda of Poplar Bluff. Dr. Carda will not be seeing or scheduling patients at the Ellsinore location.
Walk-ins are welcomed. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 573-322-0404.
Clinic hours are 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tuesdays, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays-Fridays and occasionally on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. (dates will be posted in advance.) The clinic is closed on Mondays.
