HOLCOMB -- Campbell improved to 7-2 Thursday night with a 92-38 win on the road against Holcomb. Blake Fowler and Kaden Siebert carried the offense for the Camels in the blowout. Fowler scored a game-high 23 points with the help of a perfect 8 for 8 day from the free-throw line, and Siebert added 20 points on eight made shots.
The rout was on early after Campbell led 72-26 at the half. Siebert and Fowler scored a combined 29 points in the first quarter, more than they gave up to the entire Holcomb team.
Logan Williamson scored 13 points to lead Holcomb (0-7) in the game.
Bernie 92, Naylor 35
Bernie (7-1) extended its winning streak to six games Thursday in a dominant 92-35 win over Naylor (2-5). Weston Zoll led all scorers with 22 points on six made 3-pointers. All 22 of Zoll's points came in the first half as he only played three quarters due to the lopsided score. Andrew Geohagan helped out in the scoring department with 16 points on eight made baskets, six of which came in the third quarter. Bernie was on fire from long range, connecting on 14 shots from beyond the arc.
Bernie clamped down on the defensive end, especially in the second half. After leading 54-26 at the intermission, the Mules allowed nine points in the second half. TJ Rosson led Naylor in scoring with 10 points on four makes.
East Carter 73,
Arcadia Valley 52
East Carter pulled its record back above .500 (5-4) with a 73-52 win over Arcadia Valley Thursday. Levi Boyer was one of three Redbirds in double figures with a game-high 18 points on eight makes and a pair of freebies at the stripe. Alex Kearbey added 14 points with the help of a pair of treys, and Dalton Rudd pitched in 12 points on a balanced night from the Redbirds' offense.
East Carter trailed by two points at the end of the first quarter, but quickly got going in the second half with a 23-point third to take control of the game.
Ellington 85, Viburnum 59
Kyle Conkright put on a show in the first quarter as Ellington rolled to an 85-59 win against Viburnum (1-8) at home Thursday. Conkright scored 12 points in the first quarter and 17 total in the first half to eventually finish with 26 points.
Ellington (5-6) blew the game open with a 27-12 advantage in the third quarter after taking a 13-point lead into the locker room at the break.
Will Copeland added 19 points for Ellington in a solid all-around game for the Whippets.
