A 67-year-old Cape Girardeau man was injured when he crashed his car into Money Mizer at 7:13 a.m. Monday.
According to the report, Willie Ray Mosley was operating a 2006 Cadillac STS westbound on Pine Street at Sycamore Street when it ran off the road and struck a utility pole.
Mosley's vehicle reportedly continued on, crashing through the Money Mizer building.
When Poplar Bluff firefighters arrived on the scene, they found Mosley already had been removed and was laying on the ground next to his car.
Firefighters reportedly stabilized Mosley until emergency-medical services personnel arrived.
Mosley, who complained of chest pains, was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.
A witness reported Mosley's vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.
The witness further reported Mosley told him he was trying to get to the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center at the time of the crash.
Firefighters remained on the scene until Mosley's car was removed by Casey's Towing and Recovery employees.
