FISK, Mo. -- Patsy Wanda Reatta Hayes, 85, of Broseley, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center in Puxico. Mrs. Hayes was born Sept. 5, 1938 at Broseley to the late Willie and Gertrude (Fuson) Pierce.
Mom was a seamstress, she crocheted, cross stitched and also made homemade gifts, she had talented hands. She also had a beautiful voice and was musically talented. She was a self-taught piano player and mandolin player. She was a homemaker and a great cook. She loved to garden and care for the flowers in her yard. She was a member of Elk General Baptist church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and she was also in the Ladies Aid Quilting Group.
On Feb. 2, 1953 she was married to Gerald Lee Hayes. He preceded her in death Dec. 19, 2013.
She is survived by two sons: John Hayes of Fisk, Gary Hayes of Dexter; one daughter: Auna Dabbs of Lake Ozark, Mo.; two brothers: Larry Pierce and Jerry Pierce of Poplar Bluff; five sisters: Sue Trout, Beverly Vancil, Mary Lou Boyers and Sherry Patterson all of Poplar Bluff and Sheila Slaughter of Farmer, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Memorial services will be a 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
