DONIPHAN -- The Donettes started their season on the right foot. Doniphan handled Corning (Ark.) 52-35 Monday and didn't allow more than 10 points in any quarter.
Senior Timberly Masching led Doniphan with 14 points on four made shots. Senior Alexis Day was Doniphan's only other player in double figures with 12 points as she led the game with four made 3-pointers.
Corning's Kelsey Watson led all scorers with 17 points on six made baskets and a 5 of 7 night from the free-throw line. Watson was the only Corning player in double figures.
