Staff Reports

Several Three Rivers College students were awarded funds administered by the Three Rivers Endowment Trust.

Achievement

The following students received funds for the fall semester from the Achievement Scholarship:

Jessica Dawson of Van Buren is a 2001 graduate of Southern Reynolds County R-2 and is studying business administration at Three Rivers. She is married to Troy Dawson and is the daughter of David and Sandy Hampton of Ellington.

Kelley Ponder of Doniphan is a 2016 graduate of Doniphan High School. Ponder is majoring in nursing at Three Rivers. She is married to Tristan Ponder and is the daughter of Janet and Wiliam McNece of Doniphan.

Stephanie Thomas of Fairdealing is a 2008 graduate of Doniphan High School. She is married to Garrett Thomas and is the daughter of Stanley and Lora Cook of Doniphan. She is seeking her Associate of Applied Science in the Registered Nurse program at Three Rivers.

Katy Wondel of Oran is a 2013 graduate of Advance R-IV and is studying business administration at Three Rivers College. She is married to Clayton Wondel and is the daughter of Brad and Bev Rhodes of Advance.

The Achievement Scholarship, funded by an anonymous donor, assists students with financial need, with a preference for those majoring in business or health-related fields.

Lambert C. Drury

The following students were recently awarded the Lambert C. Drury Memorial Scholarship:

Lori O'Dell of Dexter is a 1995 graduate of Malden High School. O'Dell is majoring in agribusiness. She is married to Todd O'Dell, and is the daughter of Mike and Sharon Brown of Dexter.

Stewart Shock of Poplar Bluff is a 2016 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. He is the son of Nancy and Steve Shock and is majoring in agriculture and agricultural business.

The Lambert C. Drury Memorial Scholarship is funded by Drury Southwest in honor of its company founder, who believed communities are built on the foundations of education, partnerships and values.

Ivester-Keeter

The following students were awarded the Ivester-Keeter Scholarship:

Kelse McKinney, a 2017 graduate of Naylor High School, is the daughter of Chad and Jennifer McKinney of Naylor. She is pursuing a degree in elementary and secondary education.

Jenna (Ross) Robbins, currently seeking a degree in elementary education, is a 2016 graduate of Van Buren R-1. She is married to Barry Robbins and is the daughter of Christy and Johnny Sanders and Danny Ross, all of Van Buren.

Kelly Sanders, a 1997 graduate of Greenville High School, is engaged to Tim Garrett. She is pursuing a degree in middle school education.

The fund was set up by an anonymous donor in honor of two former instructors at Poplar Bluff High School. There is a preference for students from the four-county taxing district majoring in math or science education.

Kay Porter

The following students were awarded funds from the Kay Porter Scholarship:

Destiny Ann Cagle of Dexter is a 2016 graduate of Dexter High School and is the daughter of Harold G. Cagle II and Serina J. Cagle of Dexter. She is pursuing a degree in business administration.

Haley Cornett of Dexter is the daughter of Nancy and Chris Cornett of Dexter. She is a 2017 graduate of Dexter High School and is pursuing a degree in Pre-Engineering.

Tonya Davis of Sikeston is a 1995 graduate of Charleston High School. She plans to earn an associate degree in business administration.

Jessica Dawson of Van Buren, a 2001 graduate of Southern Reynolds County R-2, is seeking a degree in business administration. She is married to Troy Dawson and is the daughter of David and Sandy Hampton of Ellington.

Logan Pratt of Piedmont is a 2012 graduate of Clearwater High School, Pratt is married to Josh Pratt and is the daughter of Jeff Handy of Piedmont. She is pursuing a degree in business administration.

Darby Scott of Poplar Bluff is a 2017 graduate of Westwood Baptist Academy, she is the daughter of Barry and Edith Scott of Poplar Bluff and is pursuing a degree in business Aadministration.

Jacob Trent Woodrum of Poplar Bluff is a 2013 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and is seeking degrees in accounting technology and business administration. He is the son of Amanda and Dwayne Ormsby of Poplar Bluff and is married to Molly Mae.

These funds were endowed by Kay Porter, who gave back to several Poplar Bluff entities during her lifetime.

Stephenson Horizon

The following students were awarded the Etta Stephenson Horizon Scholarship:

Winter Brodrick of Bernie is a 2013 graduate of Malden High School. She is the daughter of Vicki Brodrick of Malden and is seeking a degree in nursing/health sciences.

Alexis Campbell of Malden is a 2018 graduate of Malden High School. She is the daughter of Brian and Megan Campbell of Malden and is pursuing a degree in health sciences.

Jessica Dawson of Van Buren is a 2001 graduate of Southern Reynolds County R-2. She is married to Troy Dawson and is the daughter of David and Sandy Hampton of Ellington. Dawson is seeking a degree in business administration.

Tina Gibson of Piggott, Ark., is currently seeking a degree in administration of justice. Gibson is a 2011 graduate of Blytheville High School. She is married to Steven Gibson and is the daughter of Jay and Tina Morse of Blytheville.

Hannah Hicks of Wappapello is a 2017 graduate of Campbell R-2. She is the daughter of Christy Phelps of Risco and Jason Hicks of Campbell. She is enrolled in the practical nurse program.

Meagan Pennington of Piggott is a 2012 graduate of Piggott High School. Pennington is married to Steven Pennington and is the daughter of Kenneth and April Smith of Piggott. She is pursuing a degree in nursing.

Katy Wondel of Oran is a 2013 graduate of Advance R-IV. She is married to Clayton Wondel and is the daughter of Brad and Bev Rhodes of Advance. She is seeking a degree in business administration.

The fund was set up by Etta Stephenson's family to honor her and to assist students who demonstrate financial need.

These scholarships represent some of the more than $60,000 awarded to students this fall by the Three Rivers Endowment Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization that receives and manages donations on behalf of Three Rivers College.
