Jesse Ray "Butch" Dean, 73, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Dean was born March 31, 1945 in St. Louis, Mo. He had been a resident of Butler County since 1987, having previously lived in Naylor, Piedmont and St. Louis. He worked as a welder and a truck driver and enjoyed drag racing, fishing, building clocks and mowing lawns. He was a member of the Cross Street Pentecostal Church where he served as a board member, as well as a member of the Lions Club in Piedmont, Mo.
On May 29, 1966 Jesse married Linda Pickett in Piedmont, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are her children, Kevin Dean of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Keith Dean and wife, Elizabeth, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Tina Garrett and husband, John, of Naylor, Peggy Ledford of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Barb and Delsie Dean; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his parents, Jess and Elsie Dean; son, Paul Amos Dean; four sisters; three brothers; as well as one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at the Fowler & Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville. The funeral will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 in the chapel with Rev. Bill and Nancy Lotz officiating. Burial will be held at Naylor Memorial Cemetery.
