JACKSON -- Brylee Misner hit a pair of home runs as the Mules run-ruled Cape Central less than a week after losing to the Tigers.
Fourth-seed Poplar Bluff (10-15) won 13-3 in six innings in the quarterfinals of the Class 4 District 1 tournament and will face top seed Seckman (16-4) in the semifinals today at 5:30 p.m.
Northwest (15-8) and Jackson (14-8) will play in the other semifinal with the championship schedule for Saturday at 11 a.m. in Jackson.
After taking a 1-0 lead after one inning against fifth-seeded Cape Central, the Mules scored three runs in each of the next three innings to lead 10-3 in the fifth.
With a runner on second and one out, Misner lined her second home run of the day over the center-field fence.
Savannah Hicks drew a walk and with two outs and Hicks on second, Morgan Courtney connected for the walk-off single to left field.
Misner also hit a leadoff homer in the bottom of the second inning and Emilee Cheek had a solo home run in the first inning.
Misner finished 2 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs in the game while Cheek was 2 for 4 with two runs and one RBI.
Courtney went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and a run to be the only Mule to get a hit in every at bat.
Abby Gregory tripled, scored and drove in a run. Audrey Lack and Hicks both finished with two RBIs.
Lauren Alexander pitched a complete game for the Mules and allowed six hits and a walk with nine strikeouts. Alexander retired the first six batters of the game and had at least one strikeout in every inning. Poplar Bluff finished with 13 hits to Cape's 6.
Cape (7-14) scored all three of its runs in the fourth inning on a three-run double to center field with two outs.
