Twin Rivers High School senior Blake Bleem has been named a Commended Student in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Bleem is being recognized for exceptional academic promise demonstrated by his outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.

"Blake is a very kind, hard-working young man," Twin Rivers High School Principal Misti Lovelace said. "He enjoys an academic challenge and is always willing to share his knowledge with others."

As a Commended Student, Bleem was presented with a Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program.

Bleem was one of 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation to be recognized for exceptional academic promise.

Although he will not continue in the 2019 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Bleem placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2019 competition by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
