Cathy Ann Rippee Green, 61, (but forever 39) of Springfield, Mo. passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.

She was born Nov. 15, 1956 in Leachville, Ark., to the late Roy Thurman and Bessie Lee Anderson Rippee. After living in Poplar Bluff for 50 years, Cathy hit the road and moved to Springfield to be with her grandchildren.

Cathy was known by many names: Annie Cat, Grandma Cat, Catfish, and Cathy Green R.N. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse who cared for many in her long career. She loved gardening, antiquing, laughing, and eating sweets with fun people. Cathy was adaptable, compassionate, loyal, and witty. Cathy loved unconditionally and without stipulation.

Survivors include her daughter Jennifer Green and son-in-law Brian Zweerink of Springfield, daughter Jessica Green and son-in-love Chris Alles, also of Springfield; three brothers B.J. Rippee, Charlie Rippee, and Billy Rippee; a sister Thurma Griffith; two grandsons Tucker and Buzz Zweerink, and her one true love, Jonesy Steven Green.

A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 420 N. Main St., in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, Cathy would want you to exercise your civic duty by voting for anyone besides Donald Trump. As a lifelong Republican and patriot, she had a bad feeling about that guy.
