FALL SOFTBALL
East Carter 2, Doniphan 1
East Carter was held scoreless for six innings. But not for seven. Makenna Moore had another strong outing for East Carter (13-5), striking out eight and allowing just two hits in a complete game. Kaylee Davis was solid for most of the game for Doniphan (11-2), pitching a complete game and keeping East Carter at bay for six innings.
Sikeston 12, Neelyville 8
After trailing 10-2 after four innings, Neelyville made things interesting by storming back with six runs in the fifth. But Sikeston had the answer and added a pair of insurance runs in the same inning to keep the Lady Tigers at bay on the way to a win. Naudia Lazcano led Sikeston (4-4) with three runs scored and a hit, while Jordi James and Megan Witt tallied the same stat line: three runs scored to go along with two hits and two RBIs. Emily Dollins led Neelyville (9-4) with a pair of hits.
Jackson 10, Poplar Bluff 3
Poplar Bluff held the lead until the fifth inning. Then, the Jackson offense exploded. The Lady Indians scored eight runs in the fifth to secure a victory Tuesday. Lauren Alexander and Abby Gregory paced the Lady Mules (7-9) with two hits apiece.
Van Buren 10, Alton 6
Van Buren (3-8) led the entire way in an all-around solid team performance. Hailie Hampton, Gracie Chilton, Brooke Jackson and Grace Looney all scored a pair of runs to lead the offense.
