Modell Scobey was born Sept. 17, 1921 in Vilonia, Ark.. and died July 30, 2018. Modell's life goal was to make life lived between the dash (birth to death) count.

Those who knew her best can testify to her contribution through her love, listening, faith and wisdom.

When Modell was 14 years old her family moved to Missouri. She sang with her sisters in "The Tullos Trio" in local churches and singing conventions.

In 1941 she married N.O. Scobey at Campbell, Mo. She loved being a homemaker and mother. She served as bookkeeper in the family auto parts business, enjoyed sewing and served in many positions in her church. After moving to Poplar Bluff in 1961, she conducted a Bible Study in her home for over 15 years. She was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary and a long time member of New Covenant Fellowship.

Modell was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, N.O.; her parents, C.A. and Bertha Tullos; sisters, Olivia Cruce and Mildred Coats, and brothers, Luther and Earl Tullos.

Survivors are her children and their spouses: Travis (Linda) Scobey, Jane (John) Swain, Joe (Rosie) Scobey; grandchildren: Julie (Bobby) Hudson, Camilla Swain, James (Cathy) Scobey, Brian (Teresa) Scobey, Brent (Stacey) Scobey, Michelle Swain (Joel Balasingham), Kevin Scobey; great-grandchildren are Grace and Garret Hudson, Adonnya Swain, Sammy and Isaiah LeDoux, Camden and Cade Scobey, Alyna Scobey, Adam Moore, Tracie (Nathan) Payne (Aria), Collin, Carter and Hattie Scobey, Night and True Balasingham, Braden and Oliver Scobey; three nieces and six nephews.

Service will be held Aug. 2, at New Covenant Fellowship. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with the service following at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Gideons International are requested.
