Poplar Bluff Piranhas swimmer Paige Bradley placed second in the Girls 15-18 division 50 meter freestyle at the Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa, which took place from July 26-29. She went on to finish the 100 butterfly in 1 minute, 20.87 seconds, placing 14th. In the 200 freestyle, Bradley placed 16th with a time of 2:33.54.

Bradley's performance in the 100 freestyle qualified her for a spot in Sunday's final, where she finished 10th in 1:06.57.

Other Piranhas swimmers also placed at the event.

Sophie Jennings cut 18.74 seconds off of her preliminary time in the Girls 8-and-under division to finish the 50 backstroke in 1:32.06. She also completed the 50 freestyle in 1:33.38, placing 14th.

In each race he participated, Teagan Kassing finished top-15. Kassing, competing in the boys 9-10 division, placed 11th in the 50 backstroke with a time of 47.65. He completed the 50 freestyle in 37.79, placing 13th. He also placed 13th in the 50 butterfly with a time of 49.45.
