Early Head Start is accepting applications on children ages birth to 3 years old. Special Needs children are strongly encouraged to apply. Contact the nearest Head Start/Early Head Start Center or DAEOC County Office to complete an application.

Head Start Centers are located at Bell City, Caruthersville, Chaffee, Charleston, Dexter, East Prairie, Hayti, Kennett, Malden, New Madrid, Parma, Portageville, Puxico, Senath, Sikeston, and Steele. Early Head Start Centers are located in Hayti, Kennett, New Madrid, Sikeston, and Senath. The Early Head Start Home-Based Offices are located in Hayti and New Madrid.

Head Start/Early Head Start is a comprehensive early childhood program offering services to children and their parents. Tour a center and complete an application while there.

To apply, contact the Head Start/Early Head Start Center nearest you. A listing of phone numbers and addresses are available at www.daeoc.com or you may call Central Office at 800-755-3841 for contact information.

If you complete an application at your local center, please bring the child's birth certificate or hospital record and proof of family income (W-2, paystub, etc.).
