SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- The Poplar Bluff swim team came away with a victory Saturday at the Scott City Swim Meet. The Piranhas scored 869.5 and grabbed 38 wins, placing ahead of Scott City (611.5) and Charleston (391).
Teagan Kassing led the way for Poplar Bluff with five victories in the 9-10 age division. Carson Todd won four events in the boys 11-12 division, while Trinity Tuggle won three events in the girls 11-12 division.
Blaine Smith won the 6-under, 25-meter breastroke in 46.85 seconds.
Kassing won the 100 freestyle in 1 minute, 33.94 seconds. He also won the 50 backstroke in 50.47, the 50 breaststroke in 56.71, the 50 butterfly in 52.46 and the 100 medley in 1:52.79
Todd won the 50 freestyle in 36.83. He won the 50 backstroke with a time of 56.03, the 50 breaststroke in 52.97 and he took first place in the 50 IM in 1:46.19.
Gavin Vaughn placed first in the 100 backstroke (1:19.56), 100 butterfly (1:13.75) and 200 IM (2:42.40) at 13-14.
Dylan Cisne saw first place finishes in the 15-18 division for the 100 breaststroke (1:32.40) and 200 medley (3:19.76).
Samiya Anders won the 9-10 division 50 freestyle in 43.31 and the 100 freestyle in 1:50.22, while Tangant Tuggle took first place in the 50 meter breaststroke in 56.40. Maclaren Moore grabbed first in the 50 butterfly with a time of 54.66. Moore, Anders, Cameron Huck and Katie Cooper won the 100 freestyle relay, while Cooper, Tuggle, Moore and Huck won the 100 medley relay.
Trinity Tuggle won the 11-12 division 50 freestyle in 36.00, the 50 backstroke in 43.10 and the 50 butterfly in 44.50. Keona Sample won the 100 freestyle in 1:21.57 and the 44.65. Morgan Cisne won the 100 medley in 1:35.53.
Sample, Lily Gregory, Molly Mooney and Cisne won the 200 freestyle relay, while Mooney, Cisne, Faith McCollough and Giavonna Sample won the 200 medley relay.
Madison Pennington, Trinity Tuggle, Keona Sample and Sha'Re Phelps won the 13-14 division 200 medley relay. Phelps won the 100 breaststroke in 1:45.97. She also won the 200 medley.
Audrey Cisne, Simone Anders, Austynn Dover and Kayla Zachary won the 15-18 division 200 medley relay in 2:47.90. Cisne won the 100 freestyle in 1:15.13 and the 100 backstroke in 1:22.03 at 15-18. Anders won the 100 breaststroke in 1:41.66 and the 200 medley in 3:44.60. Dover won the 100 butterfly in 1:57.19.
