The Poplar Bluff Sports Hall of Fame will grow this fall with its 33rd induction class and its Board of Director are seeking possible nominees to consider.

To be eligible for election, a person must have reached the age of 35 as of September 1,

2018, be a native of Poplar Bluff who has participated in or contributed to sports here or elsewhere, or a person who came to Poplar Bluff and became distinguished here.

Previous inductees were Tenisha Britton Miller, Kenny Rowland and the 1988 Poplar Bluff Mules golf team in 2015 while Teresa Grimes Markos, Lex Drum and Colby Robertson were added in 2013.

Currently there are 88 individuals and eight teams in the Hall of Fame, with their plaques on display at the Poplar Bluff Museum. The sports room at the Museum was recently renovated and the organization, which was founded in 1981, recently reorganized.

A ballot with nominees will be sent out later this month and they must also earn enough votes by the Board of Directors to be enshrined this fall.

Possible nominees can be submitted before June 18 by email to pbsportshof@gmail.com or by mail to P.O. Box 1022, Poplar Bluff, MO 63902-1022.
