Chance Holden of Dexter finished atop a group of a 11 players who recently qualified for the 2018 Missouri Amateur Championship.

Held at Westwood Hills Country Club, Holden shot a 64 to carry the low round of the day by two strokes of Travis Simmons of Cape Girardeau.

Ben Brummitt and Nathan Woolard, both of Poplar bluff, tied for third with a 68.

Nick Westrich (Farmington) shot a 69 and Drew Denton (Jackson) shot a 70. Adam Friga (Oran) took seventh with a 71.

There was a three-way tie for eighth between Jason Cahill (Jackson), Brday Dixon (Mounds, Ill.) and Neil Pullum (Essex), who all shot a 73.

Gabe Wheeler (Sikeston) took the final qualifying spot with a 74.

The first alternate is Brandon Cooper (Cape Girardeau) and the second alternate is Ian Barnes (Licking).

The Missouri Amateur Championship is June 19-24 at Dalhousie Golf Course in Cape Girardeau.
