DONIPHAN, MO. -- H.N. "JR" Moore, 78-year-old resident of Doniphan, Mo. departed this life Friday, May 4, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Moore was born Feb. 6, 1940 in Ripley County, Mo. to the late H.A. and Oda Creach Moore.
JR had served with the Missouri National Guard for several years, was an original board member of the Ripley County Fair Board and was instrumental in the creation of the Ripley County Fair, Owner/ Operator of Hopkins Feed and Fertilizer, he was involved in the running of numerous restaurants and cafes and for several years sold insurance, he was a current member of the Masonic Lodge and was currently serving on the Ripley County Hospital Board. Most recently JR was an over-the-road truck driver.
In addition to his parents, JR was preceded in death by sisters, Reva Leroux, Ruby Flotow, and Laverne Heavener.
On Aug. 15, 1959 in Doniphan, Mo. he was married to Jean Bradshaw, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Betty (Mark) Rodgers of Doniphan; Gary (Mandy) Moore of Doniphan ; grandchildren, Angela, Samantha, and Matthew Rodgers, Garrett Moore, Michael Cunningham, Travis (Kim) Bentsen; one great-granddaughter Skyler Bentsen; sisters, Caroletta Harness of Murray, Ky.; Juanita Buck of Waynesville, Mo.; and one brother, Dwaine (Joyce) Moore of Doniphan: also surviving are several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Suiter officiating. Burial will follow in the Doniphan Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 8, 2018.
