Barbara Ficken, 90, formerly of Louisiana, Missouri, died at 9:20 a.m. on April 26, 2018, at Cedargate Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Visitation will be held from 10 -11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at with Pastor Tom Day officiating.
Barbara was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Hull, Ill., the daughter of Louis and Lola McGee Colgrove. She married Wayne Ficken July 20, 1950, and he preceded her in death Dec. 20, 2003. Her parents also preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine (Jack) Read of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Joanna (Robin) Robertson of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Charles (Shirley) Colgrove of Hull; one sister, Francis Gray of Hull; two grandchildren, Aurel (Stephen) Leamon and Kera (Blaine) Hoffman; two great-grandchildren, Macie Robertson and Lilah Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews who grew up in the Hull area.
Barbara worked at the Bank of Louisiana for many years. She enjoyed being outdoors, tending her rose garden and hunting mushrooms in the spring. Barbara liked boating on the Mississippi River and get-togethers at the family cabin near Hull. She also relished several trips to Florida to meet up with family members.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
