The Dexter Bearcats placed second Friday in the Cape Central Doubles Invitational. The Bearcats went 2-1 in the round robin. Cape Central went 3-0 to win the tournament. Dexter's No. 3 doubles team, Matt Chesser and Blake Bolin, went 3-0. They won 6-2, 6-3 against Sikeston, 6-1, 4-6, 10-8 against the Tigers and beat Jackson 6-2, 6-1...

Eric Hahn and Nate Gargas beat Sikeston's top-ranked pair 6-2, 6-2, lost to Cape Central 6-4, 6-3 and beat Jackson 6-0, 6-0.

Logan Wyman and Travis Propst lost 6-4, 6-4 to Sikeston and Cape Central in two tiebreakers while beating Jackson 6-3, 7-5.

BASEBALL

Saxony Lutheran 20, Bloomfield 2

Mason Lewis drove home 11 runs Friday, and Saxony Lutheran routed the Wildcats at Bloomfield.

Lewis hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and doubled for Saxony Lutheran, which scored two runs in the first, four in the second, five in the third, five in the fourth and four in the fifth.

The Wildcats scored twice in the fourth. Brandon Siler singled home the first run and had their only hit.

Tanner King was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs on one hit with eight strikeouts and four walks in four innings.

Dustin Debeaux was charged with the loss. He gave up fives runs -- one earned -- on four hits with one strikeout and two walks in one inning.

Bloomfield committed five errors in the loss.
