Vernon E. Hart, 100, of Shreveport, La. went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 in Shreveport surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1917 in Paragould Ark.
Vernon is predeceased by his parents William Thomas and Callie Belle Hart, as well as his sister Geraldine Stacey, and his beloved wife of 54 years, Mardrie Mozell Hart, all of Paragould, Ark.
He is survived by his son Dr. Dwight and his wife Janet of Shreveport, La., his grandson Brent and wife Macy of Washington, D.C., his grandson Brian and wife Mai, of Austin Texas, as well as his great-grandchildren Tyler, Tesla, and Genevie Hart and his nephew Keith Stacey and his wife Janice of Murphy, Texas.
Vernon was a graduate of Paragould High School 1934 and was the captain of the football team for two years. He married the love of his life Mardrie in 1941 before heading off to fight for his country in 1942. After being discharged from the Air Force in 1945, he owned and operated various businesses and was a member of West Side Church of God in Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Church at Red River in Shreveport, La.
Vernon was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, devoted son of God, and an inspiration to everyone with whom he came in contact. He uplifted the lives of everyone he touched with his phrase, "Love is the answer."
A visitation will be held at Aulds Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Paragould, Ark.. Flowers can be sent to Aulds funeral home 7849 E. Kings Highway Shreveport, La. 71115 or in lieu of flowers, memorial offerings can be made to Church at Red River 230 Flournoy Lucas Road, Shreveport, LA 71106.
