GREENCILLE, Mo. -- Annalee V. Hellums, 94, of Milton, Fla., formerly of Wayne County, Mo., passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at Santa Rosa Health and Rehab Center.
She was born Aug. 28, 1923 to Clardy and Virginia (Ward) League at Greenville, Mo.
Annalee was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. After graduating from Greenville High School, she moved to St. Louis, Mo. and went to work at Alton Box Manufacturing where she met the love of her life, husband Howard. They spent the next 64 years creating a wonderful and happy life together. She later went to work as a maid at Six Flags in Florida. She was a hard worker, an awesome cook and baker. Her son Dan loved to tease her about her cooking which made her laugh once she realized he was teasing. She was a Christian woman and last attended New Hope Assembly of God in Jay, Fla. She loved to sing gospel songs and listen to the Happy Goodmans and the Gaithers.
She is survived by her two sons: Howard Douglas Hellums of MOissouri, and Daniel K Hellums of Milton, Fla.; grandchildren: Joshua Hellums and wife Stephanie and Daniel K. Hellums II and wife Melissa; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Howard; brother: Floyd League; sisters Carrie Lomax, Lena Kelly, Eula Fox, and Allene League.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville, Mo., from 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. Services followed at 1 p.m., at the chapel. Pastor Troy Robinson ministered to the family. Justin Hellums, Joshua Hellums, Jimmy Fox, Bruce McMurry, Rock Sisk and Vernon Pogue served as pallbearers. Burial was at Greenville Cemetery.
