Local cancer charity Lending a Hand is taking a knee-slapping approach to fundraising this spring.

On Saturday, April 7, comedienne Heather Land will perform at a benefit comedy show to be held in the Van Buren High School Gymnasium at 7 p.m.

The 90-minute show is part of Land's "I Ain't Doin' It" tour, made famous by her video series of rants, raves and observations uploaded to YouTube.

Using the Bigmouth Snapchat filter for added effect, Land shares her day-to-day frustrations with the world in a witty, if sarcastic and self-deprecating manner.

Her style has won more than 120,000 followers, with some of her more popular videos reaching viral status and well over one million views.

From people who drive too slowly in the fast lane to check-out lines, nothing and no one is safe in Land's humor.

While the bleachers and floor seating will be utilized in the gymnasium, tickets are still limited. They are available for purchase on the web at eventbrite.com (search the website for shows in Van Buren).

Three tiers of tickets are available between general admission, floor seating, and VIP floor seats, the latter including a meet and greet session with the comedian beginning at 5:30 p.m.

All ticket proceeds will go to help Lending a Hand in its mission to provide assistance to Carter County cancer patients. Proceeds from concession sales and raffle drawings on the night of the event will also benefit the charity.
