ELLSINORE -- The Lady Tigers stayed undefeated in the conference with a comfortable road win. Neelyville outscored East Carter 36-4 in the first quarter and was ahead by 46 at the half before winning 90-22.
Neelyville must beat Doniphan tonight and Twin Rivers on Monday to win the Ozark Foothills Conference regular season title. Neelyville beat Twin Rivers by 25 points during the Lady Royals Classic.
Jentri Worley led Neelyville with 23 points, 19 of it in the first half. Autumn Dodd made four 3-pointers and finished with 19 points, 14 of it in the first half. Mackenzie Hobbs added 12 points. Eleven different players scored for Neelyville.
Naomi Crowley led East Carter with eight points after going 6 for 8 on free throws.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Naylor 60, Greenville 45
After shaking off two weeks worth or rust on Wednesday, the Eagles were ready Thursday.
"I told my guys I felt we knocked the rust off and should have no excuses tonight," Naylor coach Jim Carrier said.
"Aside from a three minute period in the third quarter, we played the most disciplined and focused game of the year. I was proud of how we executed and played team ball. No selfishness was displayed," Carrier said.Zeke Ward led Naylor with 19 points while Caleb Urich had 13 and Jordan Cook got 12.
Tye Huff led Greenville with 12 points after going 8 for 12 on free throws.
