SUMMERSVILLE -- Ethan Ponder and Hayden Towner scored all of Van Buren's 18 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime, but then No. 6 Ellington held them to one combined point in overtime as the Whippets upset the No. 3 Bulldogs 54-51 to advance in the Big Springs Conference Tournament.
Kyle Konkright sank a 3 and Will Copeland scored and made a free throw in overtime for Ellington's six points in extra time.
Brycen King led Ellington with 18 points after making four 3-pointers. Conkright had 12 and Copeland had 11.
Towner had 24 points for Van Buren, 18 of it in the second half and overtime. Jackson was scoreless through three quarter, then sank a trio of 3s in the fourth for his nine points.

Heath Ayers led the Tigers with 17 points after shooting 7 for 16 from the field. Colton Bennett added 14 and Taylor Hicks had 11 as Clearwater led by more than 20 points at one time in the fourth quarter.
Clearwater grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and 45 total rebounds.

East Carter 30
Katelyn South led the Royals with 19 points and Brooke Blume added 15. Twin Rivers held East Carter to four points in the first quarter for a 19-point lead.
Naomi Crowley had 10 points for East Carter, eight of it in the third quarter.
Puxico 60, Scott City 41
The Indians outscored the host rams 20-8 in the second quarter to win Monday.
Sophia Hancock scored a game-high 25 points to lead Puxico (11-5) while Kaytlynn Haynes added 19 and Faith Oliver chipped in 16.
Scott City (2-10) led 17-14 after one quarter but the Rams were held to 24 points the rest of the way.
