POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Roy Harold Green, 72, of Hardinsburg passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Harold was born March 30, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to the late Roy H. and Florence Marie Cato Green. On June 22, 1981 he married the love of his life, Janet Bagby Green and she survives...

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Roy Harold Green, 72, of Hardinsburg passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Harold was born March 30, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to the late Roy H. and Florence Marie Cato Green. On June 22, 1981 he married the love of his life, Janet Bagby Green and she survives.

He was a carpenter and auto mechanic by trade, but loved hunting, fishing, camping, trapping and digging for ginseng and yellow root. He loved being outdoors, but when he did come in to watch television he enjoyed watching boxing and wrestling. He was a Christian and had a passion for listening to radio station WJCR 90.1. During the 60's he served his country honorably in the army.

Harold lived a very interesting life and he leaves behind to mourn his passing, but celebrating the life that he did live, are his children and their mothers, Harold Damon Green, Paul Darren Green, David Lynn Green and their mother, Paulette Ellis Green; Miranda Jean Green Humphrey, David Micheal Green and their mother Janet Bagby Green; Brandi Danielle Blackwell and her mother, Georgia Pruitt; Melissa Vaughn Villigas and her mother, Ruth Casey Vaughn; sister, Janet (Melvin) Green Raymer of Elsinore, Mo., 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Per his request there will be no service and burial will be in Durham Stilwell Cemetery, located next to where he lived.
