Jesse Otto Ice, 74, of Wappapello, passed away surrounded by his girls on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born on Jan. 3, 1943 to Roy and Bertha (Smith) Ice in Holcomb, Mo. He loved spending his time watching his girls barrel racing and riding horses. He also enjoyed stock car races and was a well-known horse trainer in Southeast Missouri...

Jesse Otto Ice, 74, of Wappapello, passed away surrounded by his girls on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1943 to Roy and Bertha (Smith) Ice in Holcomb, Mo. He loved spending his time watching his girls barrel racing and riding horses. He also enjoyed stock car races and was a well-known horse trainer in Southeast Missouri.

Jesse is survived by three daughters, Sheila (Chuck) Loury of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Cheryl (Scott) Vernon of Wappapello, Mo., and Shannon (Roger) Grobe of De Soto, Mo.; five grandchildren, Ashley (Justin) Moore and Charmayne (Patrick) Edington, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Hailey Vernon of Wappapello, Parker Grobe and Trista Grobe, both of De Soto; one great-granddaughter, Charleigh Moore; four brothers, Bill Ice and Jimmy Ice, both of Poplar Bluff, Robert Ice of Florida and Charles Ice of Doniphan, Mo.; two sisters, Donna Richmann and Mary Pratt, both of Poplar Bluff; nephew, Ryan Ice of Jefferson City, Mo.; and special friends, Lloyd Harty of Wappapello, Jack Roach of Poplar Bluff, and Tony And Pam Heaton of Wappapello.

He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Harper Moore, one brother, Nelson Ice; two sisters, Verda Ice and Edith Jackson; and his parents.
