Jonesboro (Ark.) is back to defend its Showdown title, reaching the final for a third straight year after beating CBC 76-65 in Thursday's semifinal.

The Hurricanes (9-1) improved to 10-1 all-time at the Showdown. Their lone loss was in the 2015 final but they won the rematch with Kenwood of Chicago last season.

In other games Thursday, Christian County (Ky.) senior Detorrion Ware set a Showdown record with 49 points in an 80-73 consolation semifinal loss to Humboldt (Tenn.). The previous night, Cordova's Tyler Harris scored 44, one shy of Robin Dude's 1992 record for Obion County (Tenn.). Ware became the seventh player in Showdown history to score 40.

Earlier in the day, Collin Cooper of Fayetteville won the 3-point shooting contest while Jonesboro's Kyle Moore won the slam dunk contest.

The Hurricanes opened the game with a 16-4 run and held off a late charge by CBC.

Desi Sills, already a two-time all-tournament selection, scored 25 points to lead Jonesboro. The senior who has signed to play at the University of Arkansas next year, hit four 3-pointers and was 11 of 14 at the foul line.

Blayton Williams added 16 points off the bench for Jonesboro while J.G. Stafford hit three 3-pointers in scoring 11 points and Tony Hutson chipped in 10 points.

The Hurricanes sank 10 of 20 shots from behind the 3-point line and was 24 of 30 on foul shots.

Caleb Love, who led CBC with 29 points, scored 13 in the second quarter to help cut Jonesboro's 21-12 lead down to six. Williams answered with a three-point play that started an 8-2 run by the Hurricanes, who led 38-29 at halftime.

CBC trailed by as much as 17 in the fourth before an 11-3 run. The Cadets (4-5) got to within six with 2 1/2 minutes remaining but Kyle Moore got a three-point play to give Jonesboro a 67-58 lead.
