BLOOMFIELD -- Zach Hargraves amassed 27 points Wednesday, and the 13th-seeded Twin Rivers Royals rebounded from their first-round loss in the 61st annual Bloomfield Christmas Tournament.

A day after losing by 21 to fourth-seeded Malden, the Royals shot out to a fast start and beat 12th-seeded Van Buren 69-51 in a consolation quarterfinal.

Twin Rivers (5-5) held quarter leads of 21-11, 40-33 and 54-47.

The Royals held Van Buren to four fourth-quarter points and made seven of 12 free throws in the final period to secure the win.

Hargraves went 10 of 11 overall from the free-throw line.

Hayden Thomas (16 points) and Jamie Robards (12) joined Hargraves in double figures for Twin Rivers.

Hayden Towner paced Van Buren (4-5) with 23 points.

Puxico 82, Gideon 42

Dalton King nailed eight 3-pointers, propelling the 11th-seeded Indians into the consolation semifinals with a game-high 31 points.

In all, the Indians knocked down 14 3-pointers.

Braden Jones added 16 points, and Matt Bollinger and Levi Wood had 12 each for Puxico, which led 23-7 after one quarter, 48-18 after two and 71-28 after three.

Logan Woodard paced Gideon with 15 points.

South Pemiscot 82,

Richland 60

Sixteenth-seeded Richland shot out to a surprising 26-12 first-quarter lead against the eighth-seeded Bulldogs, who started their reserve players in Wednesday's consolation quarterfinal.

Once the Bulldogs' starters entered the game, South Pemiscot took control, slicing five points off its deficit in the second quarter and pulling ahead and away in the second half.

Richland led 43-34 at halftime, but the Bulldogs built a 61-49 lead entering the final quarter.

South Pemiscot's Terrence Mullen scored a game-high 20 points, and teammate Darius Johnson added 15.

Daniel Petty paced Richland with 19 points that included four 3-pointers. Tanner Freeman added 11 points, and Hunter Walker had 10.

Portageviille 69, Holcomb 34

Seventh-seeded Portageville recovered from its first-round upset loss to 10th-seeded Bloomfield with a victory over 15th-seeded Holcomb.

Ian Torrey scored 22 of his 27 points in the first half where the Bulldogs built a 40-19 halftime lead. Steve Guo made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points to join Torrey in double figures for Portageville, which improved to 5-2.

Noah Hobbs paced Holcomb with 25 points.
