Tommy Knodell, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Mark Twain Caring Center. Mr. Knodell was born May 26, 1935 at Wappapello, Mo. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and especially gospel music, singing with various quartets over the years including the Little Brushy Quartet and the Gospel Lights. Tommy Knodell, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Mark Twain Caring Center.

Mr. Knodell was born May 26, 1935 at Wappapello, Mo. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and especially gospel music, singing with various quartets over the years including the Little Brushy Quartet and the Gospel Lights. He also preached in nursing homes, and on local radio stations for over 40 years, He also served in the National Guard.

On Dec. 24, 1955 he married Joyce Knodell, in Zion, Mo. She preceded him in death Nov. 28, 2014.

Mr. Knodell is survived by his children: Penny Keathley and husband Ken, Cynthia Barks and husband Cary, Kurt Knodell and wife Julie; grandchildren: Matthew Keathley and wife Deana, Allison Ladd and husband Aaron, Caleb and Cody Knodell, Kelly and Mallory Barks: great-grandchildren, Elliott, Grant, Lydia and Jade Keathley; and a brother: Joe Knodell, and wife Donna.

He was preceded in death by is wife Joyce, father Victor Knodell, and mother Fannie Knodell.

Visitation will be today, 5:30-7 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor Keith Carnahan officiating. Burial will be in Wappapello Cemetery. Fowler Sullivan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
