MALDEN, Mos. -- Marjorie Ann Hicks Handlin of Malden died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017.
She was born in Glen Easton, W. V. May 6, 1937. She married the love of her life Edward "John" Handlin March 3, 1956. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister: Marlene and two children: Kathy and Patrick. She is survived by two children: Edward and Sharon and a son-in-law: Kevin Lepski.
She spoke often of her teenage years growing up in Moundsville, W. V. She had the opportunity to babysit for a future governor and travel to the Great Lakes where she created life long friendships.
Christmas was her favorite time of year. It always meant family time and travel to memorable events such as a show in Branson, the Plaza lighting ceremony in Kansas City, the Biltmore decorated for the season or a boat parade in San Diego.
She loved Broadway musicals and their sound tracks. She later became a country music fan, but loved to dance to any music.
Marjorie was a Christian in faith and attended the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. She loved the Lord and will be spending Christmas with him.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
