Area school districts are preparing for their upcoming elections with the opening of board of education filing beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Poplar Bluff, Neelyville and Twin Rivers School Districts each have two board of education positions available for the April election.
Interested school board candidates may file for a position until Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 with board secretaries at each school district's administrative offices.
Term lengths are three years and candidates must be a resident of the school district in order to file.
The Poplar Bluff R-1 board seats up for re-election currently are being held by Heather Tuggle and Vice President Ken Davis. Interested parties can file between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Poplar Bluff Central Office building located at 1110 N. Westwood Blvd. Offices will be closed during winter break Dec. 20 through Jan. 4.
The Neelyville R-IV board seats up for re-election are currently held by President John French and Gene Russom. Interested parties can file between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Neelyville Central Office building located at 208 Broadway St. Offices will be closed for winter break Dec. 18 through Jan. 1.
The Twin Rivers R-X board seats up for re-election are currently held by President Lee Lewis and Donna Sue Ashcraft-Fincher. Interested parties can file between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Twin Rivers administration building located at 9348 Highway 51 in Broseley, Mo. Offices will be closed during winter break Dec. 21 through Jan. 3.
