LESTERVILLE, Mo. -- Clearwater knocked off state-ranked Lesterville 59-50 Thursday night.

Tied at 33, the Tigers closed the third quarter with a six-point run and carried it into the fourth quarter for a 12-2 run against the No. 9 ranked team in Class 1.

Lesterville (6-1) cut the lead to four points in the fourth quarter, but Heath Ayers went 3 for 4 at the foul line and Clearwater (3-3) was 5 for 6 on free throws int he closing possessions.

Ayers led Clearwater with 16 points after going 7 for 8 at the foul line. He also made three 3-pointers. Gage Keller and Michael Thompson each had 10.

Neelyville 87, Clarkton 81

The Reindeer scored 30 points in the fourth quarter but the comeback fell short after Neelyville went 11 for 16 at the foul line in the fourth quarter and 16 for 25 overall.

Wyatt Moon led the Tigers (6-1) with 26 points after making four 3-pointers. He was 5 for 6 on free throws in the fourth quarter. Curtis Fowler added 22 points and Elijah Crossen had 18.

Lee Matney had 27 points for Clarkton (0-5), including 10 in the fourth quarter. Izaya Gorman added 18 points, Layne Morgan had 14 and Zane Newton got 10.

Bloomfield 61, Gideon 49

Peyton Bell went 9 for 14 at the foul line and led Bloomfield (4-1) with 20 points. Travis McCullough made four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points and Dalton Phillips added 13.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Van Buren 74, Greenville 59

The Lady Dawgs (4-2) dominated the first quarter with 31 points while holding Greenville to eight.

Three players scored at least five points in the first quarter for Van Buren and five had a field goal.

Jalynn Morgan had nine of her team-high 18 points in the first quarter. Hannah Zimmer hit a pair of 3s in the first. She sank two more in the third quarter and finished with 16 points.

Rosdee Cipponeri had eight points in the first quarter and finished with 15.

McKenzie Miller scored 33 points to carry Greenville. After a quiet first half where she had just six points, Miller scored 15 of Greenville's 17 points in the third quarter. In the fourth, she went 6 for 6 at the foul line and put up another 12 points, giving her 27 of Greenville's 36 points in the second half.

Campbell 63, Caruthersville 32

Claire Parker had 23 points to lead Campbell, which scored twice as many points as Caruthersville in three out of four quarters. Madison Burns added 12 points without scoring in the fourth quarter as seven different Lady Camels scored.

Down a point at halftime, Twin Rivers couldn't keep pace with Pine Grove (Ark.) in the second half and lost 48-29 in the Border Challenge on Thursday at the Senior High Gym.

Katelyn South led the Lady Royals (4-1) with 18 points after going 8 for 8 at the free-throw line. She had nine points in the first half despite making one field goal, a 3-pointer midway through the second quarter. Her field goal with under 5 minutes to play in the third quarter was the last time it was a one possession game. She had all five of the Lady Royals' points in teh fourth quarter.
