The acapella group SIX will perform at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers College campus in Poplar Bluff at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7. Sponsored by the Dental Arts Group, the Branson, Mo., based band of brothers are appearing as part of the Patrons of the Arts Society's 2017-18 season
"SIX is going to be a great, high-energy show with amazing music," said Robert Abney, director of the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. "You're talking about some of the pioneers of American popular acapella music, the precursors to modern acapella stars like Pentatonix."
SIX features the Knudsen brothers: Barry, Kevin, Lynn, Jak, Owen, and Curtis, who produce the sounds of a full band using only their mouths. The group is critically acclaimed and has been dubbed as "an orchestra of human voices" and "masters of showmanship." The brothers are six of 10 Knudsen brothers who have been singing contemporary acappella music with beat boxing and vocal harmonies since they were children.
SIX appeals to audiences by adding new material that is fresh, unique, and unexpected. The group also aims to please audiences with their ability to deliver powerhouse vocals, impeccable harmonies, and high-end, professional production.
Tickets are $15 each and are available in limited amounts at the Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce, the TRC Student Accounts Office, and at the door. For more information on the 2017-18 Patrons of the Arts season or to buy tickets for upcoming shows, visit trcc.edu/tinnin.
