POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Barbara Jene Gramling, 76, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017 at her residence in Poplar Bluff with her family at her side.
She was born on April 28, 1941 to Charles and Alberta (Pennington) Dover in Broseley, Mo.
In 1958 she married Carl Fancher. There are 3 children from that union-Marty, Danny and Tammy. She later married Richard Wadlow. There was another child from that union-Richard. In 1983 she married Bob Gramling and he preceded her in death in 2001.
While living in St. Louis she worked at various jobs including Carter Carburetor. After marrying Bob, they lived in Kennett and enjoyed square dancing together. She started her own dress shop and made square dancing outfits for couples. Before Bob's passing they started Direct Advertising Specialist in Wappapello. Bob sold ads and Barbara created layouts and designs for the vinyl phone book covers that Southeast Missouri used for years.
Barbara had a love for music and painting. She played the piano and was an avid painter with several works of art. She also had a "green thumb" and an eye for nature which she passed on to most of her children and grandchildren.
Barbara loved her family and is survived by her three children, Marty Fancher of Wappapello, Mo., Richard (Jennifer) Wadlow of St. Louis, Mo., and Tammy (Ken) Kutscher of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; seven grandchildren: Heather Hejnal, Tiffany Fancher, Melanie Fancher, and Matthew Wadlow all of St. Louis, Mo., Daniel Brandt of Murfreesboro, Tenn., David Brandt of Louisville, Ky., and Christina Fowler of Knoxville, Tenn.; and one brother, Larry Dover of Marble Hill, Mo. She also has 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Danny Fancher, her husband, parents, and her sister, Carolyn Emery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. in the Moore Funeral Service Chapel with John Cornelius officiating. Burial will take place at Elder Cemetery in Campbell, Mo.
