James "Jim" Crismon, 73, of Mesa, Ariz., and a well-known Poplar Bluff business entrepreneur, passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, in St. Louis County, Mo.
Jim, the son of James Bolin and Pansy Imogene (Luttrell) Crismon, was born Dec. 25, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff. Jim formally owned the KYRO Radio Station in Potosi, Mo., as well as the Irondale Bank in Irondale, Mo. He also owned and operated Poplar Bluff Auto Auction for many years.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, bird hunting, riding his motorcycle and anything to do with all types of cars.
On May 26, 1972, he married Carolyn Franck Owen in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his children, Steven J. Owen, Susan M. (Robert) Nabors and David J. (Kara) Crismon; three grandchildren, Angela M. Schweiss, Casey L. Nabors and James Preston Crismon; his mother, Pansy Imogene Smith; a brother, Larry G. Crismon; and a sister, Pamela Cauley.
His father, James Bolin Crismon, his daughter, who was the light of his life, Cheryl Jean Crismon, and a brother, Gene Smith, preceded him in death.
Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff, with the funeral service following at 5:30 p.m. The Rev. John Harwell will officiate. Entombment will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Oak Hill Mausoleum in Kirkwood, Mo.
