Dusty Stroud will be sworn in as the newest member of the Puxico School Board Thursday, Nov. 9, at the board's regular meeting.

Stroud was selected at the October meeting to complete the term of Jerry Wayne Crisel, 75, of Puxico, who died Aug. 3. Crisel was a life long resident of Puxico. He was self-employed in the trucking business and was a farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge #596 and had been a Puxico School Board Member for several years.

Strout, Charles Burns and Steve Crisel were interviewed for the vacant position in open session. After discussing the three men in closed session, the board returned to open session to appoint Strout,

The board voted to offer Anthony Lee the position of assistant high school boys basketball coach for the 2017-2018. They also approved Lee as a substitute teacher when he finishes his student teaching.

In other action, the board approved Kevin Hindman, Katie Franklin and Shane Stricker as substitute teachers pending certification. John Buttry was approved was approved as a substitute bus driver.
