NEELYVILLE, Mo. - Georgia Mae Rice, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Fairdealing, Mo., died Saturday, Oct.28, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Rice was born on April 20, 1933 in Delaplaine, Ark.

On July 29, 1957 she married Harrel Rice in Corning, Ark. He preceded her in death on Thursday, March 6, 2008.

Mrs. Rice was a 1950 graduate of Delaplaine High School and was the class valedictorian. She went on to graduate from Barnes Jewish School of Nursing in 1954. Mrs. Rice worked as an RN for over fifty years.

She enjoyed singing, was an avid crossword puzzle worker and reader. Mrs. Rice loved her grandchildren more than her own life. She was the best mother and grandmother to us all.

Mrs. Rice was of the Christian faith and served the Lord since age 9. One of her greatest passions was reading her bible. She sang for years in a gospel group from Doniphan, Mo.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her father, George Dewey Graham; mother, Willie Street Graham; step-mother; Thelma Graham; a sister, Elsa Thoemen and a brother; Russell Graham.

She is survived by her children; Kevin (Patty) Gray, Alisha (Gary) Woolard, Sean Rice and Joy (Steve) Cookson, two sisters; Virginia Slayton and Phyllis (Gary) Carter and two brothers, Carroll (Diane) Graham and Bill Graham; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Fowler and Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville. The funeral will follow at noon in the funeral home with Rev. James Gore officiating. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery.
