Shirley Ann Aquino, 71, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Shirley, the daughter of the late Cecil Ray and Ruby LouElla Kirkman Lewis, was born Aug. 31, 1946 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Third Baptist Church, and was lovingly known as the "Domestic Goddess" by her family and friends. Shirley enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family, crocheting, embroidering, coloring and playing the piano.
On Dec. 13, 1967, she married Fidel Perez "Poncho" Aquino. He survives.
Survivors include two children: Ruth Ann (Jody) Fouts and Aaron Adrian Aquino of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren: Alisa Pennington, Sue Ann (Josh) Ortego, Tiffany Dawn Morris, Jaron Hugh Aquino, Linda L. Fouts, Amber L. Fouts and Jessica D. Fouts; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Sharron Jeanie (Walter) Greer of Beebee, Ark.; and two brothers: Walter Earl (Annis) Lewis of Florence, Ala. and Cecil Ray (Joanne) Lewis of Poplar Bluff.
A son, Hugh Robie Aquino preceded Shirley in death, May 28, 2001.
The visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. The Rev Ralph Mayes will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
