The Current River Stream Team from Doniphan, Mo., recently had its annual clean-up of Current River and the banks of the river. The community was very supportive of this effort and it was a very successful clean-up. More than 25 cubic yards of debris were picked up, much of which being a result of the recent record setting flood...

The Current River Stream Team from Doniphan, Mo., recently had its annual clean-up of Current River and the banks of the river.

The community was very supportive of this effort and it was a very successful clean-up. More than 25 cubic yards of debris were picked up, much of which being a result of the recent record setting flood.

Some of the items picked up were refrigerators, chairs, a couch, mattresses, hazardous chemicals and countless glass bottles and cans.

Nine volunteers and four boats assisted in the river clean-up.

Volunteers included Bill and Linda Kennon, Dean Dye, Matt Maness, Matt Michel, Ray Stith and Ray and Shirley Batton.

The Stream Team volunteered around 90 hours in the beautifying of Current River beginning at Doniphan and covering about six miles south.
