The third annual Neelyville Tiger Fest will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday with a parade through town followed by a day full of fun and food at the Neelyville school campus.

"Tiger Fest gives us an opportunity for the school and community to come together and enjoy the day," Neelyville R-IV Superintendent Brad Hagood said.

A pageant will be held for all ages in the school gym at 10:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. for anyone who would like to participate.

Be sure to bring a costume for the children's costume contest that will take place at 11:45 a.m. Children interested in participating may sign up at the time of the event.

A talent show is scheduled for 1 p.m. featuring several acts from current and former Neelyville students.

Bluegrass musician Jake Patty will take the stage at 2 p.m. followed by the Mr. and Miss Tiger Fest at 3 p.m.

Each junior and senior high club, organization and a sports team nominates a representative to vie for the title of Mr. and Miss Tiger Fest based on a set criteria from judges.

Crowning of the newly elected Mr. and Miss Tiger Fest will take place at the conclusion of the day.

In between the packed schedule of events nearly 40 game, vendor and food booths will be set up throughout Tiger Fest.

A dunking booth, bounce house, hamster balls, bean bag toss, face painting, petting zoo, photo booth and more are sure to provide families with a day full of entertainment.

Be sure to come to Tiger Fest with an appetite because the food options will be endless. Food on hand will include fried fish, baked goods, hamburgers, hot dogs, walking tacos, cotton candy, tator piles and more.

Attendees will have the opportunity to win several items during Tiger Fest as well. A silent auction along with a 50/50 drawing are scheduled as well as giveaways.

A gun, grocery and engine raffle will be up for grabs at Tiger Fest.

A unique event at Tiger Fest this year will be the Zebu Drop.

During the Zebu Drop, participants will purchase squares and the winner is chosen when the Zebu "drops" inside someone's square.

Vendors on site will have jewelry, crafts, pumpkins and mums as just some of the items available for purchase.

Area citizens will also be able to pick up all the latest in Neelyville gear at a Spirit Shop booth ran by the Neelyville High School cheerleaders.

"We invite everyone to come out and enjoy a great day filled with good food and family entertainment," Hagood said.
