PUXICO -- Heather Conaway, Courtney Enderle and Paige Cummins each had five kills as the No. 6 Lady Rams upset No. 3 Greenville 15-25, 25-23, 25-18 in the MSHSAA Class 2 District 2 quarterfinals Monday in Puxico.
Greenville (14-16-4), meanwhile, relied on Jaden Francis for much of its offense and Francis finished with 11 kills.
Leading 14-12 in the first set, Greenville scored eight straight points that included a pair of kills from Francis. She later added a tip and Greenville finished the set with an ace.
Scott City (10-18-4) led throughout much of the second set but had its lead cut to 23-22 after a trio of passing errors. After trading points, Bailee Lathum hit a kill that skimmed the top of the net and landed for set point.
Greenville opened the decisive third set with four straight points only to have Scott City answer with four of its own. The Lady Rams led 19-17 when they scored three straight points and closed the match with a 6-1 run. Three different players had kills and Greenville committed four errors in the closing points.
Notre Dame 2, Doniphan 0 (25-9, 25-4)
Hannah Landewe earned 10 kills for the No. 2 Bulldogs and Lexi Welter got nine as Notre Dame (25-9, 25-4) cruised against No. 7 Doniphan (10-15-3) in the MSHSSA Class 3 District 1 quarterfinals.
