The Poplar Bluff Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating Joseph Earl Rick, 47, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
According to Detective Andrew Cleaveland, Rick is wanted in connection with a stabbing investigation and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Cleaveland reports Rick allegedly stabbed Nicholas Beros, 31, around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday outside the Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health Center at 101 S. Main Street in Poplar Bluff.
"The suspect's girlfriend had prior involvement with the victim," Cleaveland said as for a possible motive.
Rick is described as 6 feet tall, 160 pounds and short brown hair.
"He (Rick) does not have a solid address and is considered homeless," Cleaveland said. "People need to exercise caution around abandoned houses and empty buildings."
Cleaveland added Rick goes by different names, birth dates and Social Security numbers.
Cleaveland stresses for people to not confront or approach Rick and to call the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 573-785-5776 with information on his whereabouts.
